πwith 2 π¦π¦.
I can not decide weather I should start at 1984 or work backwards from 2025 π€.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia. Family moved to Vancouver Island 1986 where I grew up until moving away to Kamloops, BC when I was 25. I grew up a pretty lucky kid. I was able to experience and try many new things.
I am an athlete by nature, participating in most sports is fun and I catch on quite fast. It was in the family to be a soccer player so I have logged a few hours playing since I was 4 yrs old. Box lacrosse came to our town in my teens, I was able to play until I aged out of Junior level. Hunting only really started to make a mark in my life after high school graduation. I have spent a good part of my adult hood learning to navigate in the woods, conservation and taking my rifle or bow for a hike. Hunting has become more about the experience then harvesting the largest animal I can post on social media. I barely remember the animals in detail because I hunt for sustenance. I can tell you more about the great experience, who I was with laughing and living life. Growing up on the Island. Commercial fishing was the primary industry in our family, being on the water is like second nature and home to me. On the water is were I have found some of my most peaceful moments reflecting with gratitude which this life has provided. All from sitting in a boat with a rod in hand.
When I was 32, I ran into some foot mechanics that were causing me some major discomfort. Eventually I had to see a health care provider to figure it out. I will do an entire new article on the details and learning from that one. It was from that point I focused my interest on personal health and wellness. More me time. Which meant getting into game cams to keep me out in the woods exploring on foot. Buying a 12 foot boat and learning to kokanee fish here in the interior of BC.
Who and what is Bnuts?
It was out late fathers nickname. I was told he never cared for the name much. However mom tells me it became a slogan for a of way of life. Living life to the fullest as it can become sort due to uncontrollable circumstances. Dad passed away when I was 9 in 1994.
My younger brother. Decided in his teens to create a logo and vision to what he thought bnuts was. I always loved the idea and supported him. He created stickers, t shirts, hats and hoodies. Eventually growing up like we all do. It was parked as life got busy with school, work and starting a family. I one day asked if I could take a shot at building the brand. Why not right? my kids were getting older and their independence gave me more free time. It has been a slow process as it was never created to be a apparel company for a get rich scheme. Simply a brand to create a feeling of joy and recognize the people that enjoy the outdoors. Finding themself and creating memories. We have chosen to share our lives and would love for you to join us in expressing what you love to do outdoors as we build a community together. My personal go to activities are hunting and fishing, while my brother is skateboard and snow board.
We welcome you to join us, "Creating a life you can not wait to wake up to". We are here to just have some fun and grow a community of like minded people. Also welcoming people that are interested in outdoors activities and need a place to start.
I am always available to DM or email with the interested and curious. I learn new things and get to express my thoughts. Bouncing them off others. It is a great way to decompress a busy mind.
Thank you for taking the time to read till the end. Welcome to Bnuts Outdoors.
